  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp thinly sliced green onions
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • Wasabi and pickled ginger for serving

Albacore sashimi has a rich history rooted in Japanese culinary tradition. This delicate dish features thinly sliced albacore tuna, renowned for its mild flavor and tender texture. Renowned chefs in Japan, such as Jiro Ono of Sukiyabashi Jiro, have elevated albacore sashimi to an art form, showcasing the fish's natural sweetness and buttery consistency. Today, the best albacore sashimi can be savored in top sushi restaurants in Tokyo, where chefs meticulously select and slice the freshest albacore to highlight its exquisite taste. The key to perfect albacore sashimi lies in the quality of the fish and the precise knife skills required to achieve paper-thin slices that melt in your mouth.
