Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies with sea salt have a rich history dating back to the 1930s when the first chocolate chip cookie was created by Ruth Wakefield at the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. The addition of sea salt on top of these cookies adds a delightful contrast of flavors, enhancing the sweetness of the chocolate. Today, renowned chefs and bakeries across the globe have put their own spin on this classic treat, incorporating high-quality dark chocolate and artisanal sea salt for a gourmet touch. For the best version of this dish, look for bakeries that use premium ingredients and carefully balance the sweetness of the chocolate with the savory sea salt.
