Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of water
- 2 cups of finely chopped cabbage
- 1 cup of grated carrots
- 1/2 cup of chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of water to form a dough. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together 2 cups of cabbage, 1 cup of carrots, 1/2 cup of green onions, 1/4 cup of cilantro, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 teaspoon of ginger, 1 teaspoon of garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper to make the filling.
- Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces and roll each piece into a small circle on a floured surface.
- Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal, creating a half-moon shape.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Pour 1/2 cup of water into the skillet and cover with a lid. Steam the dumplings for 5-7 minutes until the dough is cooked and the filling is tender.
- Remove the lid and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes until the water has evaporated and the bottoms are crispy again.
- Transfer the dumplings to a serving plate and serve with soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice. Enjoy!
