Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine 1 lb ground lamb or beef, 1 small grated onion, 2 minced cloves of garlic, 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp ground coriander, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, and 1 egg. Mix well until combined.
  • Shape the meat mixture into small oval-shaped patties, about 2 inches long and 1 inch wide.
  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the kofte for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
  • In a small bowl, combine 1 cup Greek yogurt, 1/2 grated and drained cucumber, 1 minced clove of garlic, 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill, 1 tbsp chopped fresh mint, 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well to make the tzatziki sauce.
  • Serve the cooked kofte with the tzatziki sauce on the side. Enjoy!
