Spicy Pork Dumplings with Garlic Soy Dipping Sauce

Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 24 round dumpling wrappers
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • For the garlic soy dipping sauce:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground pork, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of grated ginger, 2 finely chopped green onions, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon of chili flakes. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Place a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold the wrapper in half and press the edges together to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and pork mixture.
  • Heat 1/4 cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the dumplings in a single layer, making sure they are not touching each other. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
  • Carefully pour 1/4 cup of water into the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Reduce the heat to medium and steam the dumplings for 5-6 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent. Remove the lid and let any remaining water evaporate.
  • While the dumplings are cooking, prepare the garlic soy dipping sauce by combining 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of chili oil (if using) in a small bowl. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Transfer the cooked dumplings to a serving plate and serve with the garlic soy dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy!
