Ingredients
- 1 pound of fresh mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup of wood chips (hickory or applewood)
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Instructions
- Prepare your smoker according to the manufacturer's instructions and preheat it to 200°F.
- Cut the mozzarella cheese into 1-inch cubes and place them on a wire rack.
- Soak the wood chips in water for 30 minutes, then drain them.
- Add the drained wood chips to the smoker box or foil pouch and place it in the smoker.
- Place the wire rack with the mozzarella cheese in the smoker and close the lid.
- Smoke the mozzarella for 1 hour, maintaining a temperature of 200°F. Add more wood chips as needed to keep the smoke going.
- After 1 hour, remove the smoked mozzarella from the smoker and let it cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, drizzle the smoked mozzarella with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
- Serve the smoked mozzarella with crackers, bread, or on its own. Enjoy!
