Garlic and Ginger Shrimp Dumplings
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper
- 24 round dumpling wrappers
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup of water
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine 1 pound of shrimp, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of grated ginger, and 2 finely chopped green onions. Pulse until the mixture becomes a smooth paste.
- Transfer the shrimp mixture to a bowl and stir in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper.
- To assemble the dumplings, place a small spoonful of the shrimp mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, then fold the wrapper in half and pleat the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Arrange the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer and cook for 2 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Carefully pour in 1/2 cup of water and immediately cover the skillet with a lid. Steam the dumplings for 5-6 minutes, or until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through.
- Remove the lid and continue to cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the bottoms of the dumplings are crispy again.
- Transfer the dumplings to a serving plate and serve with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
