Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Divide the pizza dough into 6 equal portions and roll each portion into a 6-inch circle.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Place 2-3 tablespoons of the cheese mixture on one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edge.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and press the edges firmly to seal.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 inches of vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully add the panzerotti to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the panzerotti from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
