  • Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of softened butter, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1/4 cup of finely chopped parsley, 1/4 cup of finely chopped basil, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
  • Spread the garlic herb butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese over the buttered bread.
