  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • Salt, to taste

  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.
  • In the same pot, add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and sliced ginger. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  • Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 1 hour, skimming off any impurities that rise to the surface.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and white pepper. Add the browned beef back into the pot and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
  • While the soup is simmering, cook the Chinese wheat noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Season the soup with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove the ginger slices from the soup.
  • To serve, divide the cooked noodles into bowls and ladle the beef soup over the noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions.
