  • 1 red onion, cut into chunks
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, 2 tablespoons mirin, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to make the teriyaki marinade.
  • Place the beef cubes in a resealable plastic bag and pour half of the teriyaki marinade over the beef. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Thread the marinated beef cubes, bell pepper chunks, and red onion chunks onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  • Grill the skewers for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness, basting with the reserved teriyaki marinade while grilling.
  • Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
