Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, leaves separated
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Add the ground chicken to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Stir in the diced red bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the chicken and vegetables, stirring to combine.
- Add the chopped water chestnuts and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped green onions and remove the skillet from the heat.
- To serve, spoon the chicken mixture into individual lettuce leaves, creating wraps.
- Enjoy immediately.
