Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of warm water
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 packet of active dry yeast
- 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
- 1 can (14 oz) of crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and the packet of active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and 1/4 cup of olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape and place them on a greased baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of melted unsalted butter and 3 cloves of minced garlic. Brush the garlic butter over the breadsticks, then sprinkle with 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake the breadsticks for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- While the breadsticks are baking, prepare the marinara dipping sauce. In a saucepan, combine 1 can of crushed tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the breadsticks are done, sprinkle them with 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley and serve hot with the marinara dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy!
