Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 packet of active dry yeast
  • 2/3 cup of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients, and mix until a dough forms.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 10-inch rope and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8 minutes, then remove from the oven and sprinkle the breadsticks with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the breadsticks are golden brown.
  • While the breadsticks are baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the chopped parsley.
  • Once the breadsticks are done, brush them with the garlic butter mixture while still hot. Serve warm and enjoy!
