The Caesar salad is a classic dish with a rich history. It was created in the 1920s by Italian chef Caesar Cardini in Tijuana, Mexico. The original recipe included romaine lettuce, garlic, croutons, Parmesan cheese, boiled eggs, olive oil, and Worcestershire sauce. The salad gained popularity when it was introduced at Caesar's Restaurant in Tijuana and later in the United States. Today, the best version of this dish can be found in traditional Italian restaurants and steakhouses. The key to a great Caesar salad lies in the freshness of the ingredients and the perfect balance of flavors in the dressing. Some chefs also add anchovies for an extra depth of flavor.
