Bean soup Portuguese, also known as "Sopa de Feijão," is a traditional dish with a rich history in Portugal. This hearty soup has been a staple in Portuguese cuisine for centuries, with its origins dating back to the country's rural regions. The dish typically consists of white beans, onions, garlic, carrots, and sometimes chorizo or other meats, simmered in a flavorful broth. Renowned Portuguese chefs like José Avillez and Nuno Mendes have put their own modern twists on this classic recipe. While the best version of this dish can be found in local Portuguese taverns and family-owned restaurants, it's essential to get the seasoning and the texture of the beans just right. This dish is a comforting and delicious representation of Portuguese culinary heritage.
