Mediterranean

Zucchini fritters, also known as zucchini pancakes, are a popular dish made from grated zucchini, flour, and herbs, fried to crispy perfection. This Mediterranean-inspired dish has a rich history, with roots in Greek and Turkish cuisine. The fritters are believed to have originated in the Mediterranean region, where zucchini is a staple ingredient. Chefs in Greece and Turkey have perfected the art of making these fritters, infusing them with local herbs and spices for a burst of flavor. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in authentic Greek and Turkish restaurants, where chefs skillfully craft the fritters to be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The key to perfecting zucchini fritters lies in achieving the right balance of grated zucchini, flour, and seasoning. Additionally, some variations of the dish include adding feta cheese or serving the fritters with a side of tzatziki sauce for an extra burst of flavor. Whether enjoyed as an appetizer, side dish, or light meal, zucchini fritters continue to be a beloved dish with a rich history and a delicious taste that has stood the test of time.
