Instructions

  • Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of minced ginger, and 2 cloves of minced garlic to make the teriyaki glaze.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown on all sides.
  • Pour the teriyaki glaze over the tofu and stir gently to coat the tofu evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the glaze to thicken and coat the tofu.
  • Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and stir gently to combine. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the glaze has thickened to your desired consistency.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the teriyaki glazed tofu to a serving dish.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
