Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, mirin, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Place the chicken wings in a large bowl and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Toss to coat the wings evenly.
- Arrange the chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
- Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the remaining teriyaki sauce over them. Toss to coat the wings in the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
