  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 lb of spicy pork sausage, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup of diced onion, 1/4 cup of diced jalapeno peppers, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1/2 tsp of black pepper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each sheet into 6 equal squares.
  • Divide the sausage mixture into 12 portions and shape each portion into a log. Place a log onto each pastry square.
  • Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg, then fold the pastry over the sausage and press the edges to seal.
  • Place the rolls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, seam side down. Brush the tops with more beaten egg.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
  • Allow the spicy cheese sausage rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
