  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup of bourbon
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of bourbon, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of ground ginger, and 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to make the bourbon sauce.
  • Season the chicken breasts and shrimp with salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a large resealable plastic bag, add the seasoned chicken breasts and 1/2 of the bourbon sauce. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a large skillet or grill pan, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  • While the chicken is cooking, in a separate skillet, add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until pink and opaque.
  • Once the chicken and shrimp are cooked, pour the remaining bourbon sauce over the chicken and shrimp in the skillet. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes, coating the chicken and shrimp evenly.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot. Enjoy!
