  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 24 round dumpling wrappers
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup chili oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground pork, 2 cups of finely chopped Napa cabbage, 3 finely chopped green onions, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well.
  • Place a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper in half, pinching the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and pork mixture.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add half of the dumplings and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the bottoms are golden brown.
  • Carefully add 1/2 cup of water to the skillet and cover with a lid. Steam the dumplings for 5-6 minutes, until the pork is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent. Remove the dumplings from the skillet and repeat with the remaining oil and dumplings.
  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of chili oil, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar.
  • Arrange the cooked dumplings on a serving platter and drizzle with the chili oil mixture. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds before serving.
