Ingredients
- 1 lb spicy sausage links
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes or until the onions are golden brown and caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil and heat over medium-high heat.
- Add the spicy sausage links and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
- Add the caramelized onions back to the skillet with the sausage.
- Season with 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of black pepper, and 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
- Pour in 1/4 cup of chicken broth and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the spicy sausage and caramelized onions hot, with your choice of side dishes. Enjoy!
