Instructions

  • In a large bowl, toss 1 pound of thinly sliced flank steak with 1/4 cup of cornstarch until evenly coated.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of low sodium soy sauce, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, and 1/2 teaspoon of sriracha sauce. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat 1/4 cup of vegetable oil over high heat. Add the coated flank steak and cook until crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add 3 cloves of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of minced ginger. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Add the cooked flank steak back into the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.
