Ingredients
- 12 oz linguine
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Cook the linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the chopped basil and cook for another minute.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and sugar to the skillet, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer the marinara sauce for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta with the spicy marinara sauce.
- Divide the linguine among serving plates, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
