Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of honey, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, grated fresh ginger, and minced garlic.
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper, then brush the honey glaze over the top of each fillet, reserving some glaze for later.
- Preheat the broiler. Place the salmon fillets on a foil-lined baking sheet and broil for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and the glaze is caramelized.
- While the salmon is broiling, heat a small skillet over medium heat. Add the sesame seeds and toast for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and fragrant.
- Remove the salmon from the broiler and brush with the remaining honey glaze. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the top.
- Serve the honey glazed sesame ginger salmon immediately, and enjoy!

This dish combines the bold flavors of ginger and sesame with the sweetness of honey, creating a tantalizing glaze for the rich, buttery salmon. Renowned chefs in the Pacific Northwest, such as Tom Douglas in Seattle, have popularized this dish, infusing it with their own unique twists. The key to perfecting this dish lies in the balance of flavors and the quality of the salmon.
