Instructions

  • Rinse the sushi rice in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool to room temperature.
  • In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until the sugar and salt dissolve. Let the mixture cool.
  • Lay a bamboo sushi mat on a clean surface and place a sheet of nori on top, shiny side down.
  • With wet hands, spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
  • Arrange slices of salmon and avocado in the center of the rice.
  • Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, sealing the edge with a little water.
  • Slice the roll into 6-8 pieces using a sharp knife.
  • Repeat with the remaining nori, rice, salmon, and avocado.
  • Serve the salmon avocado rolls with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi. Enjoy!
