Rösti is a traditional Swiss dish that originated in the German-speaking canton of Bern. This crispy and golden-brown potato pancake has a history dating back to the 19th century, where it was commonly eaten by farmers for breakfast. The dish gained popularity and spread throughout Switzerland, becoming a beloved national dish. Today, Rösti is enjoyed in many Swiss restaurants and households, often served as a side dish or topped with various ingredients such as cheese, bacon, or fried eggs. Chefs in the region take pride in perfecting the art of making Rösti, ensuring the potatoes are grated to the right consistency and fried to a delicious crispiness.
