Italian

Panzerotti, a beloved Italian dish, has a rich history dating back to the southern regions of Italy. Traditionally, these delectable turnovers are fried to golden perfection, but a baked version has gained popularity for a healthier twist. Renowned chefs in Puglia, the birthplace of panzerotti, have perfected the art of baking these savory treats, preserving the authentic flavors while reducing the oil content. The key to achieving the perfect baked panzerotti lies in the dough, which should be soft and elastic, and the filling, typically a delightful combination of mozzarella, tomato, and fresh herbs. For the ultimate experience, visit Puglia to savor the best-baked panzerotti or experiment with alternative fillings to create your own signature version.
