Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve 1 teaspoon of sugar in the warm milk. Sprinkle the yeast over the top, and let it stand for about 10 minutes, until it becomes frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix together 4 cups of flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and beaten eggs. Mix well to form a soft dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round roll and place them on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Brush the tops of the rolls with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving. Enjoy your delicious Panes Salvadorenos!
