  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes

  • In a pressure cooker, cook the sprouted moth beans with a pinch of salt until soft. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown. Then, add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  • Add turmeric powder, misal masala, tamarind paste, jaggery, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the cooked sprouted moth beans and mix everything together. Add water if needed to adjust the consistency. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  • For the garlic bread, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix together the butter, minced garlic, oregano, basil, and red chili flakes.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on the bread slices and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and crispy.
