Mediterranean quiche is a savory dish with a rich history rooted in the culinary traditions of the Mediterranean region. This delectable dish is believed to have originated in France, where it was inspired by the flavors of the Mediterranean, including ingredients like feta cheese, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh herbs. Renowned chefs and home cooks alike have put their own spin on this classic dish, incorporating local ingredients and flavors from regions such as Provence, Tuscany, and Greece. Today, the best versions of Mediterranean quiche can be found in charming bistros and cafes throughout the Mediterranean, where the key to a perfect quiche lies in the balance of creamy custard, flavorful fillings, and a buttery, flaky crust. For a twist on the traditional recipe, some chefs opt for phyllo dough instead of the classic pie crust, adding a delightful crunch to this beloved dish. Whether enjoyed as a light lunch or a delightful brunch option, Mediterranean quiche continues to captivate food enthusiasts with its irresistible blend of Mediterranean flavors and French culinary finesse.
