- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together 8 large eggs, 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper until well combined.

The Mediterranean Frittata is a classic dish with a rich history dating back to ancient Rome. This savory egg-based dish is a staple in Mediterranean cuisine, featuring a delightful combination of eggs, vegetables, and cheese. The addition of extra feta cheese adds a creamy and tangy flavor that elevates the dish to new heights. Renowned chefs in the Mediterranean region, such as those in Italy, Greece, and Spain, have put their own unique spin on the frittata, incorporating local ingredients and culinary techniques. The dish has become a beloved brunch item in many restaurants along the Mediterranean coast, where diners can savor the flavors of the sea and the sun-drenched produce. For the best version of this dish, sourcing high-quality feta cheese is essential. The creamy texture and salty tang of the cheese complement the eggs and vegetables perfectly. Additionally, using fresh, seasonal vegetables and aromatic herbs will enhance the overall flavor profile of the frittata. While the traditional method of making a frittata involves stovetop cooking followed by finishing in the oven, some chefs opt for alternative methods such as grilling or even using a cast-iron skillet over an open flame to impart a smoky essence to the dish. Today, the Mediterranean Frittata with extra feta cheese can be found in charming cafes and family-owned eateries throughout the Mediterranean region, where it continues to delight locals and visitors alike with its irresistible flavors and comforting appeal.
