Lemongrass grilled chicken is a popular dish with origins in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam and Thailand. This flavorful dish is a result of the fusion of lemongrass, a staple herb in Southeast Asian cuisine, and the grilling techniques that are prevalent in the region. The dish gained popularity due to its aromatic and tangy flavor profile, as well as its tender and juicy texture. Renowned chefs like Luke Nguyen and David Thompson have popularized this dish in their restaurants, infusing their own unique twists. The best version of this dish can be found in authentic Vietnamese or Thai restaurants, where the chicken is marinated with lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, and other spices, then grilled to perfection. The key to getting this dish right lies in the marination process, where the flavors of lemongrass and other ingredients infuse into the chicken, creating a harmonious blend of tastes. An alternative method for making this dish is to use lemongrass paste or lemongrass essential oil for marination, which can also yield delicious results.
