Lebanese Mezze is a delightful array of small, flavorful dishes that are perfect for sharing. This traditional spread is a cornerstone of Lebanese cuisine, offering a diverse selection of hot and cold appetizers. One of the most beloved components of Lebanese Mezze is the creamy, indulgent hummus. Made from chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, and a hint of garlic, hummus is a staple in Lebanese cuisine and is often enjoyed as a dip or spread. The history of Lebanese Mezze dates back centuries, with each region of Lebanon contributing its own unique flavors and ingredients to the table. Today, some of the best versions of this dish can be found in the bustling streets of Beirut, where talented chefs craft exceptional mezze spreads that include generous servings of extra creamy hummus. To make the perfect hummus, it's essential to use high-quality tahini and fresh, plump chickpeas. Some alternative methods for making hummus include adding roasted red peppers or pine nuts for a flavorful twist. Whether you're in Lebanon or a Lebanese restaurant abroad, be sure to savor the extra hummus as part of your mezze experience.
