Italian

Involtini is a traditional Italian dish consisting of thinly sliced meat, such as beef, pork, or chicken, rolled around a filling of cheese, vegetables, or cured meats. The word "involtini" translates to "little bundles" in Italian, reflecting the way the meat is rolled around the filling. This dish has its origins in Italy, where it has been enjoyed for centuries. It is often associated with the regions of Sicily and Tuscany, where chefs have perfected their own unique variations of the recipe. Today, the best versions of this dish can be found in authentic Italian restaurants, where skilled chefs carefully prepare and roll the meat to perfection. The key to a delicious involtini lies in the quality of the meat and the flavorful filling, which can include ingredients like prosciutto, mozzarella, and fresh herbs. While the traditional method involves pan-searing or braising the involtini, some chefs also grill or bake them for a unique twist on the classic dish. Whether enjoyed as a main course or appetizer, involtini continues to be a beloved Italian dish that showcases the country's rich culinary heritage.
