Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
- Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss to coat evenly.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the coated chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 2 cloves of minced garlic.
- Pour the honey sesame sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds and 2 thinly sliced green onions over the chicken for garnish.
- Serve the honey sesame chicken over steamed rice and enjoy!
