  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion

The Greek frittata, a beloved dish with a rich history, has been a staple in Greek cuisine for centuries. This delectable dish is a delightful combination of eggs, olives, and red onions, creating a burst of Mediterranean flavors in every bite. The frittata has its roots in ancient Greece, where it was a popular choice for family gatherings and celebrations. Today, this dish can be found in traditional Greek tavernas and modern restaurants across Greece, especially in the regions of Crete and Santorini. The key to a perfect Greek frittata lies in the quality of the olives and the freshness of the red onions, which add a unique depth of flavor. For a twist, some chefs also incorporate feta cheese or spinach into the frittata, elevating its taste to new heights. When in Greece, be sure to savor this dish in a local taverna for an authentic culinary experience.
