  • In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and grated parmesan cheese.
  • Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle.
  • Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  • Remove from the oven and brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter, if desired.
