Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • For the cinnamon swirl:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • For the cream cheese glaze:
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, dissolve 1 package of active dry yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture, warm milk, sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth.
  • Gradually stir in the remaining 2 1/2 cups of flour to make a soft dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a 16x21 inch rectangle.
  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of softened butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Spread this mixture evenly over the rolled out dough.
  • Roll up the dough tightly, and cut it into 12 equal size rolls. Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  • While the rolls are baking, prepare the cream cheese glaze by mixing together 4 oz of softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup of softened butter, 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Once the rolls are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the warm rolls and serve. Enjoy!
