  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1/2 cup chicken broth, 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until no longer pink. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and stir-fry for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  • Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until bright green and crisp-tender.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and broccoli. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the chicken and broccoli are evenly coated.
  • Serve the Chinese chicken and broccoli over cooked white rice. Enjoy!
