Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 8 oz linguini pasta
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced into strips
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, roasted and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the linguini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the chicken strips with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the broccoli florets and sauté for another 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
- Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the roasted red pepper, heavy cream, and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the cooked linguini and chicken strips to the skillet, tossing everything together until well coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Serve the chicken linguini with red pepper alfredo and broccoli hot, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy!
Chicken Linguini with Red Pepper Alfredo is a classic Italian-American dish that has been enjoyed for decades. The dish originated in the United States, where Italian immigrants put their own twist on traditional Italian pasta dishes. The addition of red pepper alfredo sauce gives the dish a unique and flavorful kick, while the tender chicken and al dente linguini provide a satisfying and hearty base. In recent years, chefs and home cooks have started adding broccoli to the dish, not only for its nutritional value but also for the added texture and flavor it brings. The vibrant green broccoli florets complement the red pepper alfredo sauce beautifully, creating a visually appealing and deliciously balanced meal. One of the best places to enjoy Chicken Linguini with Red Pepper Alfredo and added broccoli is in Italian-American restaurants in the Northeastern United States, particularly in New York and New Jersey. These regions have a rich history of Italian immigration and have perfected the art of blending traditional Italian flavors with American influences. To make the best version of this dish, it's crucial to get the red pepper alfredo sauce just right. The roasted red peppers should be pureed to a smooth consistency and combined with cream, butter, and Parmesan cheese to create a rich and velvety sauce. Additionally, using high-quality, fresh linguini and perfectly cooked chicken will elevate the dish to new heights. For a famous alternative method of making this dish, some chefs prefer to roast the broccoli along with the red peppers before blending them into the alfredo sauce. This adds a smoky depth to the sauce and infuses the broccoli with a delicious charred flavor. Overall, Chicken Linguini with Red Pepper Alfredo and added broccoli is a delightful and satisfying dish that continues to evolve while maintaining its comforting and familiar roots. Whether enjoyed in a cozy Italian-American eatery or prepared at home with a personal touch, this dish is sure to please pasta lovers and vegetable enthusiasts alike.
