Ingredients
- 4 cups of water
- 1 cup of pineapple chunks
- 1 cup of chopped naranjilla (lulo) fruit
- 1 cup of chopped ripe or green plantains
- 1 cup of chopped sweet potato
- 1 cup of panela (unrefined whole cane sugar)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cloves
- 1/4 cup of corn flour
- 1/4 cup of raisins
- 1/4 cup of chopped pineapple for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the pineapple chunks, naranjilla fruit, plantains, sweet potato, panela, cinnamon stick, and cloves to the pot.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a small bowl, mix the corn flour with 1/2 cup of water to make a slurry.
- Slowly pour the corn flour slurry into the pot, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add the raisins and continue to simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the champús has thickened slightly.
- Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves from the pot.
- Serve the champús hot, garnished with chopped pineapple if desired.
