  • In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring 1/4 cup of water to a boil. Add the sugar and spice mixture to the boiling water and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add 2 cups of pecan halves to the saucepan and stir to coat the pecans with the sugar syrup.
  • Cook the pecans in the syrup over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 5-7 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened and the pecans are coated.
  • Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the pecans are fragrant and the coating is set.
  • Allow the pecans to cool completely on the baking sheet before breaking them apart and serving. Enjoy!
