Ingredients
- 4 catfish steaks
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the catfish steaks with Cajun seasoning, making sure to coat both sides evenly.
- Dredge the seasoned catfish steaks in flour, shaking off any excess.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the catfish steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the diced potatoes. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the minced garlic, milk, and butter to the pot with the potatoes. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- To serve, place a generous scoop of garlic mashed potatoes on each plate and top with a Cajun catfish steak. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.
