Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir until the dough comes together.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it 3-4 times. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle.
  • Use a floured biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are touching each other.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  • While the biscuits are baking, make the honey butter by combining 1/4 cup of softened butter with 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix until well combined.
  • Serve the warm biscuits with the honey butter and enjoy!
