- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.

- Serve the extra cheesy braciole with the marinara sauce and enjoy!
Braciole, a classic Italian dish, has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century. This savory dish consists of thinly sliced meat, typically beef, rolled with a filling of cheese, breadcrumbs, and herbs, then braised in a flavorful tomato sauce. The addition of extra cheese adds a delightful richness to the dish, elevating its flavor profile. Renowned chefs in regions like Sicily and Campania have perfected the art of making braciole, infusing their unique regional influences into the recipe. For the best version of this dish, seek out authentic Italian restaurants known for their traditional preparation of braciole. The key to achieving the perfect braciole lies in the quality of the cheese and the slow, gentle braising process, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully. For a delicious alternative, consider using a blend of different cheeses such as mozzarella, Parmesan, and pecorino romano to create a decadent filling for the braciole.
