Bibim Mandu, a Korean dish of grilled dumplings, has a rich history dating back to the Goryeo Dynasty. Legend has it that a royal chef created this dish by grilling the dumplings instead of steaming them, resulting in a delightful crispy texture. Today, Bibim Mandu is a popular street food in South Korea, especially in the bustling markets of Seoul. The key to perfect Bibim Mandu lies in the filling, typically a savory blend of minced meat, tofu, and vegetables, seasoned with soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic. The grilled dumplings are then served with a spicy gochujang-based dipping sauce, creating a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. For the best Bibim Mandu experience, visit Gwangjang Market in Seoul, where you can savor this delectable dish prepared by skilled local vendors.
