Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, leaves separated
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Stir in the diced red bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
- In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce over the beef mixture and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Season the beef mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- To assemble the lettuce wraps, spoon the beef mixture onto individual lettuce leaves. Top with avocado slices and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
