Beef lettuce wraps are a popular Asian-inspired dish that originated in China and gained popularity in the United States. This dish typically consists of seasoned ground beef, water chestnuts, and other flavorful ingredients, all wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves. Chefs like Ming Tsai and Martin Yan have popularized this dish in their restaurants, adding their own unique twists to the recipe. Today, the best versions of beef lettuce wraps can be found in Asian fusion restaurants across the country, with some establishments offering a spicy or vegetarian alternative. The key to a great beef lettuce wrap lies in the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and umami flavors, as well as the freshness and crunch of the lettuce.
