Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, leaves separated
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Stir in the minced garlic and diced red bell pepper, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef and vegetables, stirring to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- To serve, spoon the beef mixture into individual lettuce leaves, top with chopped green onions and peanuts, and enjoy!
